Circuit Bent Video Character Degenerator Glitch Video Synth

This is a Circuit Bent video device built from a vintage early 90's video character generator. It was originally a consumer grade video device used for creating simple titles/credits to add to home videos. It has been modified to now produce a wide range of character glitch effects to add to your videos. The original white only characters can now be morphed to several shades of white, grey and black. Using a combination of the various modes with the introduction of the touch contacts will further multiply the number of effects.
Though is has a few effects that will effect the picture when there is no characters/text on screen, the main function of this device is character glitching. See my other video devices if you are looking for something with more of an emphasis on visual glitching (non-character/text).

Along with a small printed manual of the modifications that have been made, the unit also comes with a printed (photo copy) factory manual that came with the unit originally.

This was originally designed for use with inputs such as VCR, Camcorder, DVD player. It HAS been tested and will however work (unlike most Circuit Bent devices) with Laptop/common, low cost HDMI converters as inputs also. The output NEEDS to be connected to an (old school) CRT TV to get the effects that are shown in the pictures and the short demonstration videos and for the unit to function as intended.
BENDS:
1. Multi-Mode Glitch Toggle Switch-3 position switch that features two separate modes which can distort picture, strobe characters, distort characters, remove color, darkens characters or other effects depending on switch and knob setting.
2. Multi-Mode Glitch Knob-adjusts the above effect selected.
3. Character Distortion/Smear Toggle Switch-3 position switch that selects between two different types of distortion effects.
4. Character Distortion/Smear Knob-adjusts the above effect selected.
5. Character Glitch Divide Toggle Switch-divides/distorts character lines.
6. Character Glitch Divide Knob-adjusts the above effect.
7. Random Character Mode Rotary Select Switch-3 position switch that selects one of three different types of random character change/add modes that function when within "Page Create" mode.
8. Random Character Mode Activate/Deactivate Toggle Switch-turns the above selector on or off.
9. Touch Contacts (1 Large, 8 Small Contacts)-by touching the domed steel contacts (in some cases one, two or more-depending on other settings) countless effects can be introduced such as character scrolling, character distortion, character stretching, character compression and many other disfiguring effects. *depending on what other modes are switched on some effects are intensified, muted or mutated.
